Missy Sherburne has over twenty years experience scaling organizations, building partnerships and leading growth strategy and high-performing teams. Currently, she serves as Chief External Relations Officer for College Advising Corps (CAC), where she expands the organization’s impact and growth by overseeing partnerships, marketing and communications.
Before joining CAC, Missy served as Chief Partnerships Officer/EVP, Business Development for DonorsChoose.org. She led the organization’s 18 person partnerships and business development team, responsible for building corporate and foundation partnerships, driving $50M of annual revenue. During her 13 year tenure the organization expanded to 84 employees and increased annual revenue from partnerships over 450%.
Prior to that, she was the North Carolina Executive Director with Teach For America. She started her career as a Teach For America corps members in Baltimore, teaching the third and fourth grades. Missy holds B.A. degrees in Political Science and Speech Communication from Miami University and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School where she was a Public Service Fellow.
